A trip to Devonport

Today being a special day pour moi, we decided to take a ferry across to Devonport for brunch and a stroll around the shopping centre. That done, we returned to central Auckland and visited the Allbirds store, where we purchased new walking shoes.

A new and interesting fund-raising venture has just started in Auckland, called Whales Tales. There are 80 Whales Tails located around Auckland and a map is available to locate them all - expect lots of blips! After Whales Tales ends, the sculptures will be auctioned to raise funds for WWF-New Zealand's vital work to protect and restore the Hauraki Gulf and the Brude's whales that call it their home.

We saw three of the Whales Tails during our wanderings today. We also saw a most interesting optician’s shop window. The flowers were sent to me by my gorgeous daughter. How lucky I am.

There are 39 new community cases today. They are in Auckland (21), Rotorua (14), Hawke’s Bay (3) and Canterbury (1).
