Horsing around...
Following on from last night's outing I've been trying to process the Horsehead Nebula in Orion. The very bright star is the left hand end of Orion's belt, called Alnitak. The image is rotated 90 ° anticlockwise to make the profile of the head more obvious.
This is 5 hours of data but my processing skills need significant improvement! To be fair the light pollution at my location is horrendous with a significant band of coloured light tapering off when it gets to about 35 - 40° of altitude. There are filters that can be used but the best solution is to go somewhere really dark.
