SILLY SATURDAY - STILL DECLUTTERING!

Hello Lovely Blippers,

You have probably heard - many times - that Mrs. HCB is decluttering - but we aren’t sure that she gets it right.  All she seems to do is move things from one place to another and if she finds a book or lots of cards, she stops to read them - how silly is that?  We think that Admirer would be quite happy about reading books, because we know she was an avid reader, so maybe she wouldn’t find that silly.

However, today, when we heard Mrs. HCB say that she was going to declutter some of her kitchen cupboards, we decided that we would help.  It was a bit of a squeeze getting us all up into this particular cupboard, but we managed it.

She seems to buy things and then not use them such as chick peas and butter beans and we know for a fact that the Marmite Gold has a Best Before Date of February 2014!!  We’re not sure that Marmite goes off, but when we asked her about this, she said that the jar could well be a Collector’s item so she is going to keep it.  You can see on the jar that it says “Blended with gold coloured pieces” and of course, gold doesn’t go off, but even so...!

We do know that when Mr. and Mrs. HCB’s friend, Heidi, came some time ago, Mrs. HCB opened the new jar - just to make sure that Heidi wasn't poisoned - and the new one expires in December 2022, so I guess they might still be eating that in 2030!  If we are all still around on Blip then, we will let you know!

It was useful to have so many pairs of eyes to look at the Use By dates and we did have a lot of fun helping, as we always do.  However, we're looking forward to being out in the garden again, or going out for some walks with the HCBs.  If the weather is warmer next week, we might even go out for an adventure, instead of staying indoors.  Watch this space.

P.S.  We know that the HCB’s son is coming for lunch today, so it’s a good job we had a clear out - not that he will want any Marmite!
