Not Milk Tray

It’s me! Yes, "making" chocolate truffles out at Coco’s new place at Port Edgar. A very enjoyable couple of hours being shown round, hearing their history from that little shop in Broughton St, and then spreading chocolate out on slabs and eating it. I even got some Talisker whisky miniatures to whisk away home. And later we had a fine afternoon, though Mark Cousin’s section on European New Wave had us scratching our nappers so much we had to read a Wikipedia entry. In turns. Aloud. Cahiers du Cinéma - of course, how very French that there would have to be a manifesto of sorts to announce the intentions behind the Nouvelle Vague. Imagine if the British New Wave of sixties music needed some journal to say what exactly they were hoping to achieve by breaking down old crooner tropes and the prevailing ethos of sweet sentimentality. No! Just do it. Yes indeed.
