Unbottling

Shocker! Nearly midnight and I hadn’t blipped. The mind must have been elsewhere. No idea where, though there was a three hour black hole late in the afternoon while we watched Drive My Car. I mean, Sight and Sound had it at No.3 in their list of 2021 films. Why am I such a sucker? Three bloody hours. 

On the plus side, before that I had finally finished the book. Well, first draft. One hundred and sixty six pages! That’ll take more than three hours to read I expect. But it won’t be full of longueurs, oh no. Madeleines and epiphanies aplenty! Actually, I only recently came across madeleines in a literary context - I thought they were wee sponges. Proust, of course as you all know.
