A tasty morsel

It has been a dull day but I still walked the usual circuit and noticed these beetroot ready for harvest. It looks like the one in the foreground has been eaten by some creature. There are plenty of rats that live in the dykes so maybe it was one of them. I went into town this morning and handed keys to the estate agent. I removed all the paintings and pictures off our walls so the house is looking quite bare now.
