Going … ?

We have this Elizabethan II post box on our road. It’s very convenient. Before Christmas it was often full with Christmas cards. Now it echoes when I post my long hand correspondence. At least it’s still here. In East Anglia, recently, a number of these remote boxes have been stolen. Not for their contents, I suspect, but for their Britishness and black market value as a trophy artefact in a foreign land?

We had to go into town today, despite yet another grey cold day. On the way home we looked for an appropriate wheel barrow. We did not find one that we liked. However, we did see small bags of Scottish cobbles being sold for £12.50 each. I am not sure how this trade is policed but these “cobbles” looked as if they had been “acquired” from Findhorn beach or similar? Hopefully this trade is legal and all above board?

[Actually these cobbles were more like pebbles and cobbles in Scotland are called setts!]
