After the dentist and the washing and an online work meeting and preparing a portable meal I went to London to do a family job that, if the world was the way it should be, wouldn't really fall to me. But it isn't, so it does. So be it. Yesterday I contacted my mum, who lives in London, to see whether we could meet this afternoon in the Tate Britain - the most pleasant place I could think of near to where I needed to be. Yes, we could - she'd already be there with my niece! Seeing them both was compensation for what I had to do this evening over the meal I'd backpacked to London.
