More eggs!

For quite a few months, since one of the new black ones, Lizzie went broody, we've only been collecting one egg a day from our 6 hens! Gladys the other black one, has been laying the whole time. We can tell the difference as the black ones lay darker brown eggs and the brown hens lighter brown. Suddenly over the last couple of weeks the brown hens have been laying again, although not all at once but we did have 5 eggs one day! We're now averaging 3 a day which is plenty. The photo is Mathilda who seemed to take pleasure in showing me there was an egg to collect. They are all such sweet characters and quite happy to have a little fuss made of them especially if we take out vegetables and fruit for them!
