A big flap in the kitchen!
What a great game this morning - Medvedev v Felix Auger-Alliasime. Though when I had to leave to go out, Medvedev was losing against the younger man. But he rallied to win to five sets, I learned later.
JR had a lie in today, as we were meeting a friend at 11.30 for lunch. We walked down the road to All Bar One, which is dog friendly. Our pal, Christina, had sad news about her cat who is very ill, probably cancer.
The others all walked on down into town, while I set off to walk home pop into Prêt for a coffee. And then - oh look - my bus is DUE! I love that.
I then sat and read a book about the development of our area (Marchmont) that we’ve had in our possession for many years, but I’ve not read it cover to cover. Fascinating stuff.
Then I set to and started on tonight’s meal. ‘Lemony Chicken with Crushed Potato Colcannon’… never again! It was far too complicated, and too much chopping up required - potatoes, cabbage, green beans, a huge leek… it took me half an hour to chop everything (I’ve learned to do all of that before I even look at the recipe). In fact, I got in such a tizz, I had to go and ask the professional chef in the house - JR - to come and help me. The instructions were confusing. Honestly, if I’d started with this meal, I would have been put off the whole idea. I will be sending a snippy review.
However, when it was finally completed, it was tasty.
Johnston is in MORE trouble today - apart from the 15 instances of ‘parties’ at No 10 during lockdown, he LIED about helping the stray dogs get out of Afghanistan! (His wife was a friend of the owner of the dog rescue charity.)
I have passed this wee Mad Hatter dozens of times over the years. Today we stopped for a photoshoot.
