Monkey Puzzle Tree

I have loved Monkey Puzzle trees (Araucaria araucana) since I was about 12 years old and saw one at Loch Ard. There are a few mature specimens in Balloch Castle Country Park and some younger ones including this one in front of the castle which is about 2m high. Apparently the species was present at the time of the dinosaurs and can live up to 1200 years.
