Once around the village this morning to boost my daily step count. I knew it was breezy when I went out but was surprised at the strength of some gusts.

Then an hour spent on the RSPB garden birdwatch. Fewer species and lower numbers of each than last year but there was a goldfinch which we see only occasionally. No yellowhammers this time …… they seem to come only when the weather is cold, nor bullfinches which we’ve seen a number of times in recent weeks.
