Vessel traffic has resumed for the season on the St. Lawrence Seaway - a time for lots of interesting boat watching.

The big guy - Algoma Spirit - was overtaking the little guy. According to The Nautical Rules of The Road ...
A boat that is overtaking another must steer clear of the overtaken vessel's path.

Even taking into consideration the effects of a 200mm lens the pass was pretty damn close.

Another of the rules might have applied better in this case ...
Small vessels or sailing vessels must not impede (larger) vessels which can navigate only within a narrow channel.

It wasn't until I got home and looked at the fuzzy pictures (sorry blippers) that I made out the name on the side of the little guy - POLICE.
