The South Sound on a Perfect Winter Day
We decided to take our walk in town today and we started by wandering out onto the jetties on the South Sound. All the boats that are moored here in the summer are tucked away for winter so we have an uninterrupted view southwards. The sound curves to the left a little so we can't see all the way to the open sea.
It's a perfect winter day, about minus 7°C, very little wind, and a bright sun shining out of a cloudless skies.
The two extras are taken looking north. The first shows the flats / apartments that have a fine view down the sound, if they lean out of their windows a little. The second extra is taken from the end of one of the South Sound jetties, looking back to the mainland and the town's swimming pool. The strange light on the snow is sunlight reflected from the windows. In the foreground is life-saving equipment, in case someone goes through the ice. It's just after noon and the sun is behind me, shining directly up the ice and snow-covered South Sound, as you can see in the main blip.
