Quarter of a Century
Happy Birthday!
Disclaimer: this is a rather insightful post, am I ever glad I wrote it.
Goodbye early 20s, hello full-blown adulthood, at least that's how I see it.
25 will be a good one. I never pictured being 25... think about it, I say this a lot, you always picture getting older but never actually placing yourself at that particular time, or maybe you do... Take HS graduation for example, you pictured that so it was no surprise, it was your ticket to the fast track out! Some thing you see, others you speculate but never really know what they'll feel like until they're upon you.
The first quarter of my life has been super blessed and filled with many things others have yet to experience in their lives. I left my hometown and discovered who I really was, married the greatest guy I'll ever know, made friendships that will last until I'm 90, traveled the world (7 countries) and interacted with 100s of people, took risks, tried terrifying yet exhilarating new things, lived out of state by the age of 19, tasted freedom, learned to let things play as they should, that fate and life know more than I'll ever comprehend, accomplished a goal (graduating college) and attained a dream (medical school).
Yep, this first 1/4 of my life has been a truly amazing journey; a blessed one.
Here's to another year. Here's to my mid-20s. Here's to the things to come and to the things gone. Here's to knowing I didn't waste my first quarter of life, but instead embraced the opportunities that it handed me. Here's to the next 1/4, I know it will be one heck of a story.
Life is what happens when you're busy making plans.
xoxo,
