Castle Ring

The highest point of Cannock Chase.
An Iron Age hill fort.
Not inhabited since 50.A.D.
Thought to be home of the Cornovii, an Ancient Celtic tribe.
Lots of stories - from witchcraft to important portals.
Ghost stories.
Adders found here and you have to be careful if they’re enjoying the sunshine.

Most recently, a venue for drug taking and other things, resulting in the car park closure overnight.

If I take my friends to experience this mystical place, they tend to be unmoved. 

But for me, it has a special magic.
