Iris
Post-holiday job day today. I have the rest of the week off so we stocked up the cupboards and spend enough time and money in town before heading back home. All being well I should pass my probationary period in the new job in the next couple of weeks, which means that we're starting to think about buying a house up here instead of renting - we're both looking forward to the prospect of having the pets back! (I'm sure mum will be too after I had to ask her to try and weigh the cats this morning...thanks mum!). This afternoon I got in touch with the mortgage broker and had a nosy at what houses were on the market.
Have been a bit miffed that we bought a bird table on hols to help out the ground feeding birds, but that they all seem to be giving our garden a miss at the moment (our birdwatch count was pretty poor, though we did snag a wren near the end of the hour). I'm hoping it's just the wind keeping them away.
Quick blip today, I noticed this morning that the first bulbs in the garden had flowered, with a pale blue Iris, and two purple ones had also come out by the end of the day!
