Avocado cheese sandwich

The KfW is providing a 20 million euro grant to pay 80% of the costs of a gigantic battery project in Namibia. 58MW / 72MWh. It will offset their coal plant. Namibia has some of the best solar resource in the world and grand ambitions to become an exporter of green hydrogen. Hydrogen can be used in place of natural gas. Its environmental friendliness depends on how it is produced. When it is made with renewable energy it is labeled "green." 


Germany expects to import vast sums of green hydrogen from Ukraine. The pipeline exists but would need to be retrofit. It would cut Russia out. Germany is also giving Ukraine money to help transition to green hydrogen. I wonder how long it would take.
