Aira Force

We headed off to Aira Force today. It is so spectacular, but unfortunately there has been some serious tree fall. It happened, not in the recent storms as I had expected but, back in August. It is thought that very dry weather followed by heavy rainfall over a weekend at the beginning of August contributed towards the fall. The lower bridge, where the best views are, is closed for now but we still had a great walk on both sides of the fall with much to see.
Aftewards we went onto Castlerigg Stone Circle, thought to be over 5,000 years old. The cloud was low so the shots aren't the best.
