snow, snow, snow

If you’ve ever watched the film “White Christmas” you’ll recognize my title as the song Bing, Rosemary, Danny and Vera sing while in a train car heading to Vermont. We’ll certainly be putting spade to snow but don’t count on either of us washing our hair in snow!! Too cold!! • After a couple of inches of sleet it’s been snowing heavily all day. By 9pm it should be done. Per the forecast we’ll have several clear days ahead to finish our shoveling chores • The feeders have been busy for most of the day while many of the larger birds have been content to huddle in the lilac trees to keep warm: starlings, bluejays and robins • Three dear deer pushed their way through to the cherry tree in search of food but left in a hurry when something spooked them. Before dark I’ll clear out an area to feed them • MrsP is grinding flaxseed and soon I’ll be in the kitchen to make a pot of soup. Just not sure what I’m going to make…but waiting to be inspired :)
