A bridge too far

This is the Bridge from which Bridgend derives it`s name. It had three water arches two small land arches & it was built around 1425 but partially demolished by floods in 1725 following which it was rebuilt. The last recorded use by a motor vehicle was in 1920.It is a grade II* listed structure. The walkway on the right of the image was constructed at great expense to the taxpayer a few years ago. It is hardly ever used. The clock you can see in the background is on Newcastle Church.
