Today's the day ..................... to play chess

A very inclement day today with lashing rain and strong winds - and not one that you would want to spend outdoors, if you could help it.

Much better to stay indoors in front of a log fire and play a game of chess.  At three-years-old, Josie's command of the finer points of the game may differ from the received version, but nevertheless produced a thrilling and hard-fought contest between Mother and Daughter.

It was no surprise to anyone that Josie was the victor ...................
