On Wednesday Michael Gove

announced the government’s key policy “levelling up” plans were based on extending local democracy in ‘the biggest shift of power from Whitehall to local areas in modern times’.
On Thursday it was announced that Bristol airport expansion would go ahead after all, despite the opposition of local people, and the council’s decision to reject the plan. Overruled by Whitehall.
WTF? as the younglings say. Just more nonsense and lies,
