During a lull in the rain I went out but caught in the rain and despite wearing suitable wet weather clothing it took ages to dry my jacket and trousers as they hung dripping on the bathroom floor. On the way I passed three very wet sheep standing outside a new Aldi store which has recently been built on the site of a former woollen mill in Dalkeith. The sheep is wearing a Fairisle jumper in the colours and pattern which was one of the most popular sellers for Laidlaw and Fairgrieve.  She is called Nitten which is one of the local names for nearby Newtongrange where some of the 200 workers lived.
