Lofoten Islands on the Port Bow!
An early morning postcard on Norwegian Day. We’ve been sailing through the Lofoten Islands towards Honningsvåg on the most Northerly part of the trip. It’s the port of call for everyone wanting to visit the North Cape but that wasn’t in our plans and just as well as an avalanche had closed the road! We wandered around town for a while braving the Arctic wind when we ventured near the shore. All the winter gear we brought is getting a good workout.
It’s meant to be clear tonight so maybe there’ll be a good light show. Last night we saw some aurora but missed some brief, spectacular lights. Still good though!
Extra added 10pm.. Wow!
