Wooden Railway

There's a tired old trope that men buy railway sets for their sons and grandsons because they really, really want one themselves. Well not in this house. I couldn't call myself a railway buff but I am, or used to be, a bit of a nerd. Before covid I loved a train journey. I knew the timetables backwards. And lots of other ephemera. A toy railway set is a wonderful thing to have. This is all second hand stuff and there is a lot of it. I set it up this morning before my grandson arrived for Monday childminding. He loves a train set too (extra) and he calls the track 'the circle'.
