In the studio

Don took this image of me as we were setting up the studio to check that the lights were in the right place. Working with a backdrop is weird after 2 days out and about in the sunshine. I wanted to keep moving round the subjects but soon realised that I was getting too much background stuff in the shot.

Today we were taking shots of people who have been given bursaries to enable them to go further with their talent. We had Kaleigh and 16 year old hammer thrower who was fresh faced and beautiful. Then Dave you is a Jack AND master of many trades but is currently exhibiting some of his art at the gallery here before finishing his book in the coming months. This guy had a clear idea of what he was not comfortable doing and I admired his confidence to say so. I also admired Don for his quick creative thinking enabling us to keep coming up with new ideas in a situation that I may have crumbled in. We had some spare time at the end at capture most of the staff members which I was pretty much left to have a go at by myself. Made a critical error with forgetting to adjust the lights when one of the directors went from a seated position to standing.

We're back in the same place tomorrow for some more shots. Each with their own special talent then enabled them to be awarded with the bursary. So interesting hearing them talk about what they do.

Find out today that my little bro and his wifie have booked their move to Canada. That'll be 2 brothers in another continent from me. Its a shame for me and I get a bit sad knowing how quickly the children will change without them being here to share it with. I know though, that they are two of life's risk takers. They love new things and giving stuff a go, just up and leaving without very little planning. They've kept their lives simple to enable them to do this so good luck to them. I'll just have to hope they keep us updated with their adventure....And don't have any babies until they are back home and available for me to coo over.
