Life through the lens...

By ValC

Sun, snowdrops, and sea.

It was a glorious morning when we set off to drive east, over the Yorkshire Wolds to Burton Agnes Hall.
We missed the Snowdrop Festival last year because of Covid, however this year the tiny flowers were looking better than ever.
Nodding in the breeze, with the blue sky and sunshine they looked breathtaking.
The walk through the woods is about a mile, with the snowdrops carpeting the floor throughout.
We were certainly not disappointed, and got chatting to a very nice couple who said they thought this year was the best ever.

Wasn’t sure which to use as my main photo as I took so many. It was a toss up between this one and the first extra.
Second extra is of the Hall and a couple of the garden statues.

It was then on to Bridlington where we are staying the night. Decided to make it into a mini break.
Our hotel is overlooking the sea at the North end.
After checking in at 3pm we walked along the promenade to the harbour, and carried on to the South promenade.
The tide was out and the sea quite calm, so no big waves like last time, and no fishing boats coming in to unload their catches.
On the way back we stopped for fish and chips at one of the few cafes that were open.
They were delicious. Beautiful white fish and crispy batter.
Then walked back to the hotel, with the light from the lighthouse flashing in the distance.
A couple of drinks in the bar before coming up to our room and flopping on the bed.
Should sleep well tonight!
Oh I do like to be beside the seaside.

Last extra a few shots of Brid.
