St James Walkway

Walked part of the St James Walkway on the Lewis Pass in glorious sunshine for a few hours. The isolation and awe of the place just makes us want more...we plan and talk about what can do next and where and how to fit it in to the few weeks we have left. We do not want to go home.
Camped up at Slab Hut Creek, another wonderful DOC site, beside a popular gold panning (fossiking) stream. Had evening drinks with the young neighbours in their VW camper ....we had a demonstration on how to put their bed together, as you do.
Definitely feeling chillier at night and the extra blanket has been in use.I'm also more likely to be on the hot choc in the eve rather than a nice chilled 'Boundry Road beer' or the Sav Blanc!! All still grand.
