Got back late to East Takaka, happy to be back to civilisation. Spent a warm cosy evening by the fire with Rich and Amiti catching up and stayed in Stan...too late to move bedding etc.
Spent Sat doing chores - with pleasure.....washing machines, big sinks, hot water taps and showers. Clean us, clean clothes, clean bedding and a clean stan.
I baked apple sponge and an apple crumble. They have a bountiful orchard and I've missed having an oven, a convenient combo considering their were 10 people for dinner in the evening. Me, Mike, Rich, Am, Jasper, Luca, Momo, Annie, Ludo and Franze. Big outside BBQ, with plenty of shaggy ( the recently departed Angus) sausages and steaks, roast pots, salad and sweet corn. Washed down with plenty of Duncan's finest Pinot Noir while the mobile fire was manoeuvred to keep us all warm. Stunning sunset and a very comfy night back in the yurt. The bed is so BIG and there' so much space....I might have gone a little van crazy?!
