Bee seeing you...

I hadn't seen any blue banded bees for a couple of weeks, so thought they might have disappeared for the year (i.e, died, which the adults do when it gets cold). But this female was buzzing about today, probably getting more food stores in for the eggs/larvae which will overwinter in the nest.

I had a nice in-flight shot too, but this one had the edge in focus, even though it's similar to shots I have taken before. I'm just happy to still be seeing them around, but Autumn really hasn't kicked in properly yet - not much rain and still very warm during the day.
