Another page spread in my altered book. These pages are for Hel. She was a Goddess for people who lived 30 000 years ago. For them, she was the mother Goddess, the Goddess of the Moon, the Sun and Earth, and she kept them safe. Her world was situated underground, and it was a beautiful, peacefull place.
She remained a Mother Goddess for people in the North, despite what people with other religions, such as the Asa faith with Oden, Thor and the rest, tried to make Hel into. Within the Asa Gods, she became a monster of the underworld, along with her sibblings the Fenris wolf ( Fenrisulven) and the snake of Midgard ( Midgårdsormen). When Christianity came, the world of Hel became something for evil people, sinners and non believers. In Swedish we have Helvetet, and in English there’s Hell.
Hel had her belevers until 1000 years ago, when she was forgotten.
I’ve just read a whole book about her and I find these stories really interesting! :)
