Seedling progress
The seedlings in my home office are getting bigger. I know March is only a couple of weeks away but I'm now thinking I may have sown too much!!
I got about 90% germination rate and although it's generally good to sow more than you need, I always want to keep all the seedlings so it becomes problematic when you run out of pots or space! I've got plenty of friends who will happily take a tomato plant or two off my hands next month so it shouldn't be too much of an issue...
What I intend to do is attempt to move the more robust seedlings to the greenhouse next month to see what happens. Last year, I did that and protected them with cloches during cold snaps and all the plants survived and produced early in the season.
This year, I'm less worried with the bubblewrap insulation in the greenhouse but the slow-growing plants (chillies and aubergines) will stay in the house until April or May so it's going to get crowded again!
