Beetle marks

I've not made it to the plot today. I had a cold water swim in the morning and spent all afternoon at my desk marking and working on a job application.

It rained heavily most of the day, which was quite satisfying as I've recently sown more grass and green manure seeds and I strimmed for the first time this year yesterday. It's always good when it rains after a strim!

These pictures are fascinating marks I noticed yesterday on 2 year-old logs. I did some research and it appears to be beetle larvae that did this. It's such a beautiful, intricate design, it nearly looks like trees or ferns.

Nature never ceases to amaze me!
