Wansfell

We wanted to do a walk from the house so I picked a walk up Wansfell Pike. We managed another early breakfast together and got everyone out of the house just after 10am. The weather was pretty good and actually quite warm. We were soon working up a sweat anyway, as the climb was a lot steeper than I had imagined. After about an hour and a half of steep climbing, Poppy, Liv and I were beginning to struggle and when we realised that we still had a long way to go to the top, we decided to throw in the towel and made our way back down, leaving the chaps to finish the ascent by themselves. 
We met up again for a pint and some cheesy chips at the Unicorn and we were pleased that we'd left them to it as they said there was quite a scramble at the top and they had to take an alternative, longer path back down as they couldn't find the route in the book. We all had a rest back at the house and we're eating at home tonight. Hoping to play some games or watch a film later.
