Today it snowed a lot!

In fact it was snowing so hard that most of the day we just sat inside watching the snow come whirling past the house. Eventually I did get out to clear some of the paths that our neighbour doesn't clear with his big machine.
As I was clearing around the car the neighbour arrived. It was an impressive sight as he came down the drive pushing a huge wave of snow in front of the machine. Here he's passed me and headed up towards the house. He has large spotlights on both the front and back of his machine, because he spends almost as much time going backwards as forwards!
Before the snow really started to fall we saw the ptarmigan again. Eight of them sitting in a tree across the field. As we watched they flew closer to the house and took up station in another tree, where I took a picture of three of them, in the extra.
