Wound up in Wexford

Crocus

Despite the wind, I managed a better photo of the crocus at the bottom of our garden than yesterday.  At least it's largely in focus.  Mind you - though the wind was bad, it clearly wasn't as bad as in many other parts of the country.  And although there have been a few unidentified flying objects sighted around our village, the westerly direction meant that the chairs and table on our east facing patio were so well sheltered they haven't budged.

It would have been nice to get a photo of an open flower.  But the crocus were having nothing to do with me - they were tightly closed, and determined to stay that way for today!

A little while after this, as I sat in the studio and wound thread around rope for the sixth, and final, placemat, I watched Mrs Woody cling to the trellis for quite a few minutes, before finally managing to negotiate the short gap onto the fat cake.  And then she only grabbed a few mouthfuls from the rather wildly swinging feeder before giving up and retreating to a more sheltered position.  The smaller tits seemed better able to cope.
