CRESTED SCREAMER

This is the Crested Screamer (Chauna torquata); this one of a pair lives at the zoo in Milwaukee.

I nature, it lives in South America in Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay and northern Argentina.  It eats mostly plants and seeds and, occasionally, small animals.  It's larger than a chicken...smaller than a turkey.

It's Silly Saturday and I can't find the proper tag. But if ever there a "silly" looking bird, this one qualifies. And it isn't called a screamer for nothing. You can hear them from a very long distance.
