Every Thursday morning at 8 AM it is the tradition that the fire alarms are tested where I am working. So when they went off this morning at 8 AM, people were a little puzzled, and started checking what day of the week it was. Yes, it is Tuesday. No there wasn't a fire. The man doing the testing was in the wrong building, he should have been in the one that tested the alarms on a Tuesday. Tradition broken.

Every now and then (far too frequently in fact) someone will arrange a meeting at the end of the working day. Normally one of the key people will be delayed due to a previous meeting in the day over-running. Then someone (with nothing better to do) will normally extend the meeting over some pointless detail. Today was one of those days with an end of the day meeting, however, everyone was reasonably punctual and it was completed in half the time allotted. This meant that I wasn't too late leaving work, and even more amazingly the traffic hadn't built up as much as I would have expected. More traditions broken.
