New Forest Rhinefield Ornamental Drive
Our first day in the New Forest and we revisited the Rhinefield Ornamental Drive for a lovely walk that explores giant redwoods, Douglas Firs and Norway Spruce - some the tallest in the UK, and the heaviest. I hope that they haven't been damaged in storm Eunice. There is also an arboretum with this carved woodpecker on top of the entrance arch and this carving of a cone.
Driving back to the hotel we came across these donkeys in the outskirts of Brockenhurst, quite at ease and expected drivers to treat them with due consideration - which they did. I wonder how many of them stroll into peoples' gardens?
Then across a bit of common land where there were two ponies being very friendly.
A lovely day
