Cliche In The UK
Today's image is of some random objects that I found in our spare bedroom (I was searching for a long lost t-shirt) - a Union Jack Flag and a rather psychedelic looking London themed wash bag (no idea where they came from!).
It represents just some of the cliches about the UK - the flag, red double decker buses (for some reason the ones in today's shot are purple and white!), red phone boxes - you could add pin stripe suits and bowler hats, post boxes, cream teas, cricket, deckchairs, seaside piers, warm beer, fish and chips...the list is almost endless!
This comes from the same country that can produce Anarchy In The UK by the Sex Pistols with lyrics such as:
Right now
I am an antichrist
And I am an anarchist
Don't know what I want
But I know how to get it
I want to destroy passerby
'Cause I wanna be anarchy
No dogsbody
Anarchy for the U.K
It's coming sometime and maybe
I give a wrong time, stop a traffic line
Your future dream is a shopping scheme
You gotta love a country that can produce such contradictions!
