Flood

We awoke to heavy rain and gusty winds and it hardly stopped all day. We had a steady stream of customers from mid morning until early afternoon and it ended up being a reasonable day - making up a bit for the slow business on Friday and Saturday afternoon.

On our way to Harrogate this morning there were huge amounts of standing water on the roads and in the fields about.

At some points there was a flood across the road and at one the traffic had slowed down to a sensible speed to go through - but the muppet coming in the other direction (in a Tonka truck) had other ideas and drove through it chucking up huge waves  - instant Karma as his car slowed to a crawl before he was through!

We stopped at Wetherby on the way home and I grabbed a phone shot of the floods near the bridge….the little ripple visible through the arches is the weir!!
