Orchis' fate

The purple Mokara orchid, tropical and delicate, has lush, velvety petals and strikingly rich color that makes it especially captivating.

The orchid symbolizes love, beauty, refinement and beautiful woman. It is also the Chinese symbol for many children, thoughtfulness, maturity and charm. Orchis was a man of beauty punished by the fates for his uncontrolled lust. He was torn apart by beasts and from his death arose orchids.

A single purple orchid,
So finely put together,
Colours melt into each other,
Petals spread and feather.

Sunlight glitters on the pollen,
Such beauty in one small thing,
A sad, peaceful quiet moment,
What emotion a flower can bring.
