Food and music
We’ve had quite a social day, at least by our standards post -pandemic. First, we had lunch with our U3A group in an Indian restaurant in Dunblane.
I dithered about what to wear then went with a newish sweater. Imagine my horror when the first person I meet is wearing almost an identical one. Fortunately we have both reached the stage of life when we treat the matter as joke.
Then on to Dunblane cathedral for a concert by the touring string trio, Oliveros Ensemble playing Beethoven, Schubert and Cras. ( see extra).
This is the first event since lockdown in the cathedral and the organisers, Dunblane Arts Guild, were ultra cautious insisting on masks, sanitizers, and social distancing.
Still it was good to be out and about again and there were a surprisingly large number of people, a sign perhaps how desperate we all are to go out and mix again socially even if we would not normally attend a string trio of classical music on a wet and windy Sunday afternoon in mid February.
One problem though if you haven’t seen folk for two years its difficult to identify them behind their masks. M ex- boss was there and I didn’t recognise him.
