Today, I got a Little Cross……

The outbuilding in the garden has been a project on the horizon pretty much since we moved here. Last year, we managed to get the lintel above the door replaced, meaning we could remove the accro supports holding the roof beam and stopping the leaking roof fall in. Then we got the roof repaired, so that it is watertight. The last big job (that I was not comfortable doing myself) was to get the “tir-fort” put through the walls at each end to hold the slightly leaning wall. When I say slightly, extra pic shows it’s jaunty angle and the other cross. A metal bar runs between the two and holds the walls so that they don’t move further apart. The building has survived two small earthquakes since we have been here, so it was a case of making the building even more secure. Next job will be to screed the inside walls, then prep the outside walls and mortar the gaps to make it all sound. Mrs SoL has suggested I might move in!!
