How Rude!
I was up early to go and make sure the monsters got off to school (Bags was interviewing for an assistant and her hubby was getting into the office early to get a desk ... there was a bog company meeting with 50-60 people).
There was a bit of a slalom through the cones to get out of the street.
No change coming back - obviously 8.30am is too early for council workers.
Mid morning the van and the road melter/digger upper arrived and sat there for an hour while the melter/digger upper filled with water (there are other stand points closer to the roadworks and not in a residential street.
SWMBO threw open the window at one point and shouted at the van driver who had just thrown his rubbish out of the cab.
He denied it but eventually realised he wasn't going to win and picked it up.
I wonder what would have happened is next door had needed to go out.
I eventually managed to go and get new wipers for the car.
What a price!!!
I thought SWMBO was going to have a stroke.
On the way home we had to sit in the 'Access Only' bit of road while the not working workers finished their conversation with the tractor driver who was stopped and blocking the road. As we were passing when he did move he blasted his horn at us. Another case of the 'Great British Manual Worker' showing his reputation for being a useless, rude git is well deserved.
After school the monsters came here for a snack and a drink before we all headed back to their house - but before that I took The Cygnet out to the garage and he watched me as I completed his request to make a wooden woggle for his scout uniform (the one he was given is a horrible, cheap, gaudy leather one). I will make him a plaited leather one at some point as well.
