Family Time

The Knights host a Mardi Gras party each year. We were able to go to Mass before it began. The turn out is usually small so hubby treats my sisters, BILs and my mother to a pleasant evening out. Daddy used to love this event because the knights were so attentive to him. Our family provides homemade desserts (except the king cake) which folks really look forward to. Whoever gets the King Cake baby must host the party the following year. My sister, hubby and I hosted the second year (2013) and it was a lot of time consuming laborious work. We hesitate to eat king cake until someone else gets the baby. They are still using bits and pieces of our original decorations. Obviously, my sister took the photo of hubby, our mother and me. But the collage provides an overview of our evening. Tonight’s event was low key. There was no alcohol, no music or dancing like previous celebrations. Maybe folks just weren’t up for it. The word from Ukraine is dismal. It was hard to enjoy such a nice Cajun themed meal and time with friends and family after seeing those chilling sights on tv. Thanks for stopping by. Stay safe and cherish your freedom folks. “Life is too short not to celebrate nice moments!” - Jurgen Klopp.
