The General Lee

Car show today in Palmetto, Florida. The show had two "celebrity" cars on display. The General Lee from The Dukes of Hazard, and the Pontiac Firebird from Smokey and the Bandit. Which one would you pick to drive?

I picked the General Lee, but there were still questions to be answered. Which cousin would I be...Luke or Bo Duke? (I chose Luke.) Who would be my Daisy Duke? (I chose Lisa.)

I "borrowed" a pair of scissors, and had Lisa shorten her culottes to be like the short shorts that Daisy used to wear. While the car handlers were watching her, I snuck into the trailer and got the keys. They were still watching her when I jumped in the drivers window. (the doors never opened), and fired her up. I yelled at Daisy (I mean Lisa)..."HONEY...GET IN!" Likewise, she also had to dive in the window.

With a squeal of the tires and a big WOO-HOO, we were off. Back in the day, the Duke cousins got a head start because there were no cell phones. Not today. The handlers were quickly on their phones, and several sirens were soon heard. The chase was on.

I pushed the car, because I knew it could go. I had watched the show. Daisy (I mean Lisa) yelled..."GO LUKE GO! DRIVE LIKE THE WIND!"

We drove like the wind, but the wind turned into a breeze...a gentle breeze. After several thrilling miles, the wind died.

I couldn't understand it. In the show, the Duke boys ALWAYS got away. Why didn't I get away?

I am now arrested for celebrity car theft, and Lisa is arrested for indecent exposure (she went overboard with the scissors). We may need some character witnesses.
