Balado Radome
This radome (known locally as the "golf-ball", of course) at Balado in Fife covers the dish and ancillary equipment for a satellite ground station. It was commissioned in 1985, and the Internet seems to contain conflicting information about whether it is still in use.
I must admit that I was slightly nervous about posting this picture - am I breaching National Security? - but when I saw various official-looking websites showing much more detailed pictures I decided that it probably wasn't a problem (for example http://canmore.rcahms.gov.uk/en/site/158652/digital_images/balado+bridge+satcom+iii+ground+station/)
As you can see from the photograph, it was pretty misty when I took the picture. Behind the golf ball you can just see some hills - I was surprised to see that they are still counted as the Ochils. There is even still some snow on the hills, if you look hard enough for it!
