Chitting

These are Charlotte. A lovely salad potato.
Now in egg boxes “ chitting “ in front of the kitchen window.
Chitting simply means encouraging the seed potatoes to sprout before planting.
Takes about 6 weeks.
We will then put them in the potato grow bags, and look forward to eating freshly picked potatoes in summer.
Pouring with rain outside. Hope we have better weather tomorrow for an interesting trip out.
